Archaeological Ruins of Tulum, a must-see

If you plan to travel to Quintana Roo or Riviera Maya, you can not miss the ruins of Tulum, one of the best known places on the Mayan Route. The Mayan Ruins of Tulum are considered by many to be one of the most beautiful, despite being small, because of their unique location by the sea. Tulum's biggest attraction is the combination of towering ruins with the turquoise blue Caribbean Sea.

Location

The archaeological site of Tulum is located in the state of Quintana Roo. A little more than 100km separate it from Cancun and about 60 km from Playa del Carmen.

Schedules and Prices

Ruins are open Monday to Sunday from 8.00 to 17.00 pm. We recommend you to arrive early, as the weather is more pleasant to tour.

The price is about $75 Mexican pesos, and remember to bring cash as they do not accept credit cards. If you want to watch the sunset from there, there is an additional access time from 17:00 to 19:00 hs. The price past 4:30pm is $240.

How to get there

If you do not want to pay car rental, you can choose the option to visit Tulum by bus from Cancun or Playa del Carmen, ADO is one of the lines with comfortable and good quality buses. In addition to that, they are currently taking good care of The Protocols of Safe Distance to prevent Covid-19. The cost of the Playa del Carmen – Tulum round trip ticket is approximately $150 Mexican pesos. You can choose to stop at the Archaeological Zone or go directly to the Center of Tulum.
